Mike Moran, LCSW, CST is a licensed psychotherapist and sex therapist in private practice as well as with The Institute for Personal Growth in New York, NY (Chelsea). He centers his practice at the intersection of couples therapy and sex therapy; he is the only Certified Emotionally Focused (EFT) Couples Therapist and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist in NYC. He is also a Certified Inner Bonding Facilitator and holds a Certification in Creative Arts Therapy from The New School for Social Research. Mike has extensive knowledge on how relational issues impact sex and vice-versa and has trained directly with relationship experts Sue Johnson, John Gottman, Margaret Paul as well as sex therapist Margaret Nichols. He also has developed an area of specialization around how shame impedes relational and sexual connection. Mike is also an adjunct professor at Rutgers University where he teaches Marriage and Family Therapy as well as LGBTQ Issues in Contemporary Society. Before going into private practice, he was Director of Training at CFN where he traveled the country delivering training on communicating effectively, conflict resolution and team building.
